Deck Size Guide
Choosing the right deck size can be the difference between fun and frustration, generally you’ll want to make sure that the width of the skateboard is wide enough for your feet, this will make it considerably easier for you to roll around and steer.
If the deck is too narrow for your shoe size the board will feel unstable to ride, while if the deck is too wide it can be far less responsive and really difficult to control.
Your weight and riding style can be other factors in influencing the board size you should get, you might consider a wider deck (8.5” - 9”) if you weigh more than the average person or want to do vert / bowl skating as it will provide you better stability.
The table below should give you an indication of the best suited size for you, note that when getting into the full-sized deck territory, a lot of the guidelines can become subjective to the skater’s personal preference, intermediate to advanced skaters will generally settle on a deck width between 8” & 8.5” as their preference.
